Data in its raw form is of no use unless it is collected, cleansed, indexed and analyzed. This data, once crunched, can provide valuable insights for businesses and individuals.One such example is what we experienced with a leading US retailer, thereby sowing the seeds for Epiphany.

The client wanted to reduce the SLA of the support team – response to alerts, threats or errors in an application distributed across a cluster. What used to take 24 hours we managed to reduce to one hour!

Their requirement led to us suggesting a solution of log analysis using open source tools to provide near real-time alerts, threats and error detection.

Although we had a solution ready it was not implemented because of the provisioning and procurement challenges. As a result what could have been done in two weeks took four months.

This significant increase in the time-to-market of a solution and the logistics issues in implementing them led to the birth of Epiphany.
